Writer's workshop has begun! Students have been hard at work learning to streeeettttcchhh out their stories across the pages! We have been working on writing about *small moments*. Ask your student what small moment they chose to write about about!

In math this week we talked about how mathematicians have tools just like carpenters, gardeners, teachers, etc. We experimented with a few tools like shape templates, number lines, dice and pennies.
This week in reading workshop we learned that readers read MORE AND MORE to become better readers. We made a plan for our reading and will be setting goals next week to help us build stamina!
We also discussed how readers give themselves previews before reading a book and *do something* after reading a book. The *do something* part can include rereading the book, finding your favorite part to read again and think about why it is your favorite part or retelling the book to a friend.
